oh, spare me with these pathetic reactionary ‘answer’-idiot-protesters. it’s clear as a bell that hamas is a radical organization, bent on destroying israel, and chooses to set shop among gaza’s civilian population. until hamas change that stance, or gazan’s elect differnt representatives, israel has the moral right to root them out and disable their rockets.

Shortly after I posted, I saw one incident with batons out, when five or six pro-Israeli protesters approached the crowd when it was starting to die down.

The demonstration re-energized and marched on to UN plaza.

Entire five miles of walking and little over three hours of public protest went on without any real threat.

There were more riot cops making shows of their force at the Prop 8 vigil or Castro Halloween.

Rob: I was on the Northside behind police lines and saw batons out.

The crowd tried to move across Sacramento St. North and the cops held the line, so there was a confrontation

The organizers did the smart thing (for once, I’m complementing ANSWER…!) and got the on the bullhorns to redirect the crowd and chants back towards the embassy and no one was whacked.

This is just untrue – I am there right now. The demonstration is peacefully suspending without any incident or police intervention.
