Hi everyone,

I'm actually organizing a park group at Garfield Square to build on the improvements that have already been happening. If you're interested in participating, email me at msilva@sfnpc.org

Thanks!

I take my kids to the park at Garfield Square a lot. They'll take swimming lessons at the pool too. And eventually soccer at the new field. What's the deal with Broaster Chicken? I see the sign all the time but haven't ventured in. Also - what's up with the burned out building on the corner? Anyone know the back story on that?

Word. Who knew Broaster Chicken would turn things around?

And yeah, 19th and Valencia is a completely different world. Wasn't some clothing company trying to open a store around there before a bunch of restaurants and boutiques shut it down? It's a dog eat dog world...

Funny, true, but out of date. I think the liquor store on Harrison and 26th might have been the most dangerous corner outside of the Tenderloin until a few months ago.
The cops now have a walking beat down 26th. The dealer guys hanging out on the corner in front of the projects got busted on gun charges. Also, the new futbol field was the big turnround for the park. It's used constantly. All very good things for the Inner Mission.
