Papalote is the only taqueria whose oooks do not need hawk-like monitoring to ensure a queso- and crema-free veggie burrito. The in-burrito pico de gallo is totally mild, just right for the spice-sensitive tum. (which is vegan-atypical! all my other friends <3 spicy foods.)

if they want the Latino community to appreciae their grub maybe they should call it “cocina” instead of “cuisine”. Why must fancy = French? Just sayin’.

Papalote isn’t my #1 favorite burrito place, but it’s pretty damn good and right near my apartment and does right by vegans so I eat there at least once a week. And the salsa and guacamole there are both hard to beat.

Papalote is the best! I love the lard free re-fried beans and the fish is delicious, perfect for all the ital Rastas in SF.

Mr. E is also an incredible DJ who has continually given back to his community. Sponsoring tons of events, like the Annual Doin-It-In-The-Park celebration, and as a result he’s received numerous community awards.

Ok, I <3 Papalote, but it is the only burrito place in the mission that I have *never* seen a latino in.

I don’t appreciate their stingyness with the chips… and the outrageous cost of extra Sour Cream and the like…

Other than that, it’s a semi-regular locale… favorite among my friends, but not at the top of my list…

i used to check that dude out at Storyville back in the mid-90s. in addition to running a nice little resto, that guy can tear up a couple of 1200s.
