The Ferocious Few Rocks Out

furious-few-jamming-16th-valencia

Reader Natalie G. reports that a group of local street rockabilly musicians were rocking out at 16th and Valencia last night:

The Ferocious Few were playing at 16th and Valencia, 9:45 this fine Wednesday evening.  Crazy guy dancing along (not pictured).

This is certainly a nice alternative to Jews for Jesus group that has been taking over the corner lately.

hood could use more buskers. these guys are swell.

    wonder why there aren’t more…?

    I don’t know….

…maybe because there are actual people with jobs living upstairs who need their sleep, or would like to be able to watch TV without turning it up loud enough to drown out the drummer?

Just a guess, based on my wife’s new friendship with Mission Station.

those are all good & fair points…and no one hates inconsiderate jerks spoiling my ‘dancing with the stars’ sessions, or my slumber, more than me.

and we get plenty of that – and not musical – on my block.

but still, given all the ‘street art’, and folks in the hood who play music, and foot traffic…you’d think there would be more.

i’d personally welcome it, inconsiderate drums & later hours notwithstanding.

I live on that corner and we open the windows and turn off our music (not TV people) when these guys are playing. They’re really wonderful and when they played on Wednesday, they had new stuff!
They come around almost once a week and have been for the last few months. It’s quite a treat to finally know who they are.
    Thanks Mission Mission!

I have seen these guys around town a few times. Once at Montgomery Station, Delores Park and in the Mission. They are great.

I first heard these guys playing out near Montgomery station a couple months ago and was excited when I saw them while walking over to K&D one night. Excellent. It’s pretty rare that I buy disks from buskers but I picked up these guys cd the first night I heard ‘em.

    Keep it up fellas!
