JWZ is not a cop, he is the owner of the DNA Lounge. He has made a huge contribution to nightlife in SF, in spite of constant harassment from various authorities and constant vandalism from some of his customers.

If you can't see the difference between tagging and "street art", you deserve to be schooled. There are some fine hardworking graffiti artists in SF, it's a mystery to me why this blog is cheering on the taggers.

I would have commented on the cop's blog, but he's made it difficult to do so.

The name calling and dated characterizations really undermine whatever point that guy was trying to make. Say what you will about Allan's attitude toward street art, which I believe is consistent and defensible--he doesn't attack people, and he never tries to shut people up. He even extends the mic to his marginally deserving critics.

This is a big-hearted guy. He deserves better than this brand of cowardly wandering malice.

Also, I wish we could retire the old hipster-fixie straw man. It makes the utterer sound, well--I'll resist the urge to characterize. Act your age, not your shoe size.

Okay, I don't agree with everything for the sake of agreeing, but the link above is rediculous. First of all on a logical level they deal in absolutes, and nobody intelligent that I know talks in absolutes (that's an absolute). Why would the Mission Mission blog be associated with approving ALL vandalism? Is this really an intelligent discourse? I hate to say it but whoever wrote that post is clearly missing the point of dialog: you discuss and interpret points, but you don't simply bash someone else in general. Frankly, I love Mission Mission, and I find a lot of the postings both relevant and interesting. To say that the blog generally supports vandalism is truly naive. Read more, hate less.
