I’m gonna make sure not to carry valuables round these parts. I hear tasers are getting cheaper; maybe we can truck one of them around. Frickin Mission…too bad we love it so much.

The question was if the gun was a revolver (with a cylinder that spins around) or an auto(matic). Automatic in this context obviously doesn’t mean a machine gun. From Wikipedia “An “automatic pistol” or an “automatic shotgun” generally refers to a semi-automatic design.

I know first-hand how scary it is to get held up in the Mission, even when taking reasonable precautions. When it happened to me (22nd bt Valencia & Mission), I and my 2 friends were completely sober and aware. Nothing we could have done and it sounds like there was nothing you could have done either. The people talking tough a)have never been at the wrong end of a gun or b)are scared shitless thinking about what you went through and are acting like internet tough guys (or girls) to compensate or c)unsympathetic dickheads who, in time, will hopefully learn some sensitivity. I took the precaution of:
A) Not riding my drunk ass home on my bike
B) Being escorted by two people who were fairly sober

I wasn’t asking for it, I was just walking home with my pals helping me- as is my god damn god given right. Pardon my French.

Been here for 13 years now. Will continue to walk and ride my bike when I damn well please. Nobody is going to scare me into submission. It was a chance opportunity. The chances of it happening again are slim. I’ve lived and traveled in scarier places than this little town. Trust me. I can handle myself. These things happen.

But god forbid that I should pass along the information so that others might benefit.
Police we flagged down and notified. The two sober ones made the report. You’re welcome assholes.

Did you report it to the police? If so, please be honest and tell them you were very intoxicated. If there was some kind of identification, i.e. from a photo spread, your mental state would really call into question your ability to make an accurate id. Identifications are very questionable even when people are sober. The point is, a mistaken id will lead to the punishment of the wrong person.
