As a long time resident of this neighborhood, this disgusts me. The neighborhood fought the good fight against the Bryant Square project, which displaced a community of artists in affordable spaces during the dot-com boom. The fight was lost due to some smooth lobbying for what was designated to be office space, and we wound up with an enormous hole in the ground for 6 or 7 years. Now this. There are so many units being added in this small neighborhood, many of them are not sold or rented yet, and the impact on traffic, parking, etc. is already huge.
It makes me so mad that these people had to get evicted for a proposed project that never happened, only to put in costly lofts. The minute the smell of money comes into a neighborhood it starts vomiting lofts, and they have really changed the neighborhood.

I met the servers at the Jay n Bee who had retired from an evening of slinging drinks and hors d'oeuvres and were taking it out on a few pitchers of beer. The event was for other real estate agents (which should explain the sour faces). I guess they divide up the units and divvy the sale of the units out to other realtors.
Call me a sell out but I'm hoping we get a cheap Thai or Indian restaurant in one of the commercial spaces. I can't keep eating tacos like this. I'll explode.
