Burrito Justice, the Mission’s top historian, has done it again, this time with a full-scale expose on the storied history of business at the corner of 26th and Valencia. He also comes up with the line of the decade so far:
“24th is certainly a hipster semipermeable membrane.”
Perhaps Capp Street is the voltage-gated ion channel in this scenario.
Why on why is Capp Street still associated with the oldest profession? Lived there 5 years and never saw a prostitute. Unless they wear something different these days, I think they all hang on Polk and in the T-Loin. Other than the fast moving vehicles, Capp is quiet. Or are all women walking in the Mission whores?
What block of Capp Street did you live on? I have a space on the 100 block (btwn 16th and 17th) and I can tell you that prostitution is constant there.
Not near 16th — at 26th. Its a different world on this end. I guess I’m just sick of the tag (pun intended). Love to know how many you see, times of day and if the police EVER crack down on it (another intended pun).
