Pierogi Plea Update

A couple weeks ago it came to light that there is a serious pierogi deficiency in the Mission. A handful of helpful souls have started thinking about how to rectify this injustice, and this week we received word of a couple more possibilities:

Amber wants to have a pierogi party this weekend.

Joe wants to start a pierogi business ASAP.

Get in touch if you’re game!

      Totally Down!

I’ve successfully made pierogis twice. My grandma still won’t give me her recipe though.

  2. Mission Mistaken says:

The Pierogi factory (what else to call it? Pierogiaria? Pierogiery?) on Potrero at 18th has closed, along with the undercover narcotics enforcement office that is basically kitty-corner on the other side of the street.

Does anyone else suspect a connection? Is the Pierogi the donut of the undercover narc? Or was the Pierogi Factory somesort of device for infiltrating the Russian mob that permeates the sunset?

We may never know, but the smell of baking is slowly fading from the Mission, replaced with the smell of the other kind of baking.

I LUUURVE pierogis, and make a mean mushroom/sour cream/dill dumpling, along with a not-PC but dee-licious choped veal and gravy flavour. My email is andrea.waterstreet@gmail.com

I always see the sad saran-wrapped ones at cafes and am scared. I’d love to try a real fresh, delish veggie one.

I commented on the last post but I’m commenting here. I want in!

CUT THE BULLSHIT AND MOVE ON TO RAVIOLI AND DUMPLINGS LIKE THE REST OF US.

Dude, pierogi is WAY BETTER than boring, chewy, dry ravioli. The only thing that makes ravioli good is the sauce. With good pierogi, you don’t even need a sauce. Enough said.

The Pierogi Plea Is Being Answered on Saturday, Dec 18th – Twice!

PierogiSF (http://www.twitter.com/pierogisf) and Oakland’s Natural Cookery (https://www.facebook.com/1219cookery?v=wall) have each heard the pleas for delicious pierogi in the Bay Area, and we’re answering the call at this Saturday’s (12/18) New Taste Marketplace! (http://www.newtastemarketplace.org) 4-9pm at St. Gregory of Nyssa Episcopal Church in Potrero Hill, 500 De Haro at Mariposa.

    Happy pierogidays,
    PierogiSF
