		<description><![CDATA[In my experience, European pop art edges towards the corny.  Steve Spielberg is very popular over there.  I have twiddled it around in my head since 1st going in the 70&#039;s (that would be before Paris had a Pompidou and its ghastly neighbor Les Halles -- I have pictures and wow, what a fabulous neighborhood they bulldozed) and I still can&#039;t quite put my finger on it.

There is a fatalism there that expresses itself best as &quot;there is nothing new under the sun.&quot;

But there is also a lot of energy and creativity.

And most of it desperately wishes it could move here, live in the Mission and work for google.]]></description>
