Adios Mariachi's

Have you ever been to Mariachi’s on Valencia for fast, fresh, and healthy Mexican food?  Well, if not, you’d better hurry, because according to Grub Street, both it and its ten (10) different kinds of delicious vegetarian burritos will soon be gone and replaced by a Grandeho’s Kamekyo sushi bar.

Where will all of Mission mariachis go for dinner?  La Rondalla can’t open soon enough!

    Bender’s should get the sign!

Great, because if there’s one thing the area needs it’s another mediocre sushi place.

Ugh another sushi place?! We already have 2 within a block or two of this spot. How about a new flavor for the neighborhood! I think we can all agree that we have enough pizza, sushi and burritos!

Terrible taqueria – mango salsa blows – good riddance.

NOOOOO!!! Mariachi’s is my absolute favorite. Their specialty vegan burritos — their Thai Tofu Burrito and Soyrizo especially — are my fave burritos in the whole city. I’m going to stop by and find out if this is true and if it’s a done deal or if there’s any way folks can help keep this neighborhood favorite going.

Do we really use “neighborhood favorite” to describe failing businesses that are closing because, presumably, they don’t have enough customers? I’ve walked in there on a Friday night at 9:00 and been the only person in the place. I liked their food, but this doesn’t quite seem like a cause to rally behind.

The Mission has far too many Mexican/Latin restaurants anyway and I’m tired of the Mariachis too. Seeing people in full on Nippon garb with Shamisens over their shoulders sounds awesome to me!

What a shame. The least greasy, most veggie-creative burrito place in the hood. RIP, Mariachi’s!!

I love Mariachi’s and over the last 13 years it has always been my first stop when visiting San Francisco. I live out of state. Thankfully I was just there a few weeks ago after a 6 year absence. Little did I know it was my final Mariachi’s burrito. I even took a photo of myself with the sign. Ha!

  11. Good riddance — the mascot deeply offended me.
