If you’re going to wait 20 minutes for brunch, at least go somewhere that actually has good food, like Universal Cafe or Mission Beach.

Really? The only place I’ve ever seen that has a vaguely similar brunch menu is the new St. Francis Fountain, and that’s because they’re owned by the same people.

Chairs and service are fine.

Boogaloo’s is good food and a totally reasonable price, but I can’t really put up with the wait. That, and my tolerance for being chin-deep in hipsters is relatively low.

There’s never a wait if you’re there before 9:00, and the huevos rancheros are awesome. Of course, if you’re a hungover hipster doofus looking for breakfast at noon, then, yes, its not worth the wait.

I’ve never understood the appeal of Boogaloos. I’ve been twice and the food does not warrant the wait at all. Maybe I’m ordering wrong but there are far better places to spend money on brunch.
