It was not done by a passerby, but by a surly fellow who had just left our beloved Little Star. He and his less-surly friend sat at a table next to my lady-friend and I. They ordered a pie, a couple of drinks then bitched about the time it took for the pie to arrive. When they finished the drinks, the threw some cash on the table before bolting and hitting the window from outside. Incidentally, the pie arrived just as they left the building. Good things do come to those who wait!

Acoustic result of the impact was “loud”. Reaction of the diners on the immediate other side of that window was “surprised”.
