I walk by that beautiful orange sign all the time, the way I have for over 15 years. That, like the old 17 reasons signs, were such unusual visual representations of the wonderful cross cultural ties this amazing neighborhood has had over the past 50 years. I only wonder if people will use the same amount of effort to save, say, the Skechers sign or the facade of any of the old theaters. And Harry D is the man, and he represents another old institution worth fighting for, KUSF! This party is going to get down for sure, and what better place than the new clubhouse for one of the most colourful of San Francisco's performing institutions, Cyclecide. The venerable Bicycle Travelling Circus kids embody so much artistic creativity and general good will, with their bike powered rides they used put up @ the old Bike Kitchen put tons of smiles on people's faces. I'd love to go and support all these endeavours, and truthfully, If I did't get the tickets I would probably do it anyway, just as everyone who reads this site should. Not because it's a throwback or homage of things of the past, but because there are still things worth protecting here now, and most importantly, it will be a great way to rock out and have fun, especially celebrating the Niners' win over the Saints! Viva Discolandia!

Hey I don't wanna seem like I single handedly saved the sign. Not an accurate portrayal of what went down. The guy who owns the restaurant is basically a very agreeable, super reasonable, nice guy. And I for one am looking forward to eating loads of pork and pie. Pork pot pie? Yesh!
