I saw Melted Toys open for Beach Fossils at Slims in June, and they were great in a Cure-like way. Also I live 3 blocks from Cafe Du Nord, and my roomie once lived with a woman who would volunteer at The Sweedish Hall , when it was for actual Swedes.

Around age 9 or so, during a ‘war reenactment’ session I once accidentally set my neighbor’s back woods afire by putting packs of matches to model tanks, model plans and those plastic green army guys. No joke.

Young Prisms have that wall of sound psych rock sound that has been a West Coast staple for as long as I can remember. Melted Toys sound like The Cure only less intense. A little like elevator music though. Sometimes being too mellow isn’t a good thing.
I should win because I’ve never won anything before.
I’ve got a denim jacket like the one the lead singer of Felt wears and Melted Toys and Young Prisms are great and must love a bit of Felt.
