So, the “guy” who left WAS the person driving, as we witnessed from our window…we watched him flee, so I left my apt. and actually pursued him out of my front door and caught him on the bus thanks to people on the street answering my questions as I ran.
I stopped the bus and boarded and I identified him and two undercover cops who had followed me on the bus and then arrested him. No on was hurt luckily, but mi esposa y yo are from SF born and raised and regardless of who it was, (yes he was an established “day laborer”; you don’t hit and run! What kills me is that no one did anything…they were too busy standing there with their “I” Phones:photo and video…ultimately passive/distracted…just standing there!
In retrospect, I’m glad I caught him. Next time folks, please don’t just stand there with your I Phone! Take action on crimes….muggings, murder, hit and runs…next time do something. It’s a shame that this man had nothing to loose at the scene, but everything to loose by getting caught! We must find a way in California especially, to allow Mexican citizens to work safely here.

You can hear him say why in the video, but only like 5 seconds is audible.

I was coming up Valencia (south) and I heard tires squealing then a lot of metal crunching, turned down Lapidge and saw the guy in teal running next to the truck. Got out the iPhone and started filming.

Nobody was in either of the cars you saw damaged in the video, but damn he made quite a mess. Police have the video already and it’s clear enough that you can see exactly what happened.
