He said they were all sitting in Dolores Park & decided to march down Valencia. He said some dudes who he recognized from using black bloc tactics in Occupy Oakland Fuck The Police marches were the ones who split from the group and started smashing shit. The Occupy protesters supposedly were yelling at them (which was the reaction I saw last fall). After the November riots in Oakland, OO voted in a general assembly NOT to self-police, even though the consensus was that black bloc tactics were not the preferred method. They felt it would be contradictory to the movement’s inclusion of anyone who wanted to identify with it.
