I can swear to you that I am neither young or professional. Scum seems likely to be the same. Herr Doktor, I would guess, is not young… perhaps professional, but perhaps not. GG seems to be the most likely professional, but no longer young, and teetering on the brink of non-urban. Eric… eh, who knows? Most of the posters here, they don’t give up enough information about themselves in their comments for anyone to even care about what they have to say. They come and they go. That’s probably not all I have to say on the subject, but that’s all I got right now.

Don’t misread me; I’m not talking about behavior, I’m talking about people who pursue a profession. Doctors, lawyers, teachers, investment bankers, etc., etc.

Not people who have a lot of time to post blog comments from their work computers, especially to complain about the yuppification of Valencia.

That’s what the professional in professional means. It’s not a subjective comment on how appropriate people behave at work, it’s a class of jobs. White collar jobs are “professional” jobs.

So who are all these clowns who try to talk “street” while complaining about condos and yuppies and expensive drinks in the comments here? Self-hating yuppies?

We can agree to disagree about the limit of youth (no more than 30) and the meaning of “professional” in this context. Cubicle drones are not “professional”, however white-collar they may be.

I’d bet almost 100% of the posters meet that description. Most people around here are likely employed in professional jobs and are making an above average amount for their age.
