I'm kinda with you. I really LOVE the NYC style of pastrami-with-rye-and-mustard-and-nuthin-else with hella pastrami...for the first two bites or so. Then I'm dying for some vegetable relief.

NYC pastrami sandwiches are a twice-a-year thing for me. I can't hardly fathom the pastrami hardcores who consume a sandwich daily-oy vey!

I've eaten at every "world-renowned" deli in NYC (Katz's, 2nd Ave, Sarge's, Carnegie, etc) and I've got to be honest with you: I don't get the whole no veggies on the pastrami sandwich thing. I know you want to showcase the flavor of the meat, which is definitely on point, but I really miss the textures and flavors that the lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles add. At least a Reuben has got the sauerkraut and cheese going for it. Just meat, mustard and rye bread is pretty boring in my opinion.
