Also – a lot of “business dudes” are actually lawyers. Like defense, immigration, employment attorneys. You know, the ones helping poor people. We have to dress fancy for court. In SF, dudes in suits are more likely to be attorneys than anything else.

So what? Why does this matter? Is their music somehow less valid because of their socio-economic background? Oh, I get it, they were not “authentic” enough for the neighborhood, right? They should’ve moved to Pacific Heights!

And, no sir, I am in fact not a classist ignorant person. I am just baffled as to why you chose to inject classism into an innocuous post about a band that lived here for a couple of years in the 90s.

Yes ‘somewhat’. And ask the band members. They will agree. They were never in danger of starving or living on the street. They were close to their middle class families. Not a bad thing. It’s just fact. Why do you have such vitriol over a simple observation? I am also ‘privileged’ in that, if I was evicted and lost my job, my family would loan me thousands of dollars. I am white. I would never be shot by the police if I reached for my wallet. I am up in line for any management job by the color of my skin. Since I am white and have no felony record. I am up to the top of the list to be called back by a landlord, since my name is white. I speak without an accent. I have a college degree. I have 30 years of employment. While young blacks and latinos go through a 50% unemployment rate versus 15% whites. Why is that?
They just didn’t do their resumes right. I do manual labor. And have done sales, and have been a general manager. You sir, are a classist ignorant person. Yes, just go to college and assume $40,000 in debt for jobs that ARE NOT THERE.

A ‘real job is what?’ What you perceive in the way someone has to dress or chooses to dress? I posted this accidently in the older post, here it is for today. Amazing one of your regulars was so quick to reply in such a nasty manner then. (D. Jon Moutarde says:”Please, dear god, just get over yourself!!!”)
–The sound of the mission? Why do you say that? That’s weird. I mean I know your ‘history’ on this site goes back to uhhh…look the very old TIP TOP SIGN! but christ blake and chris only lived here a few years, and for 12 years before that tons of famous bands lived and played here…not to mention you are making a white somewhat privileged band as the ‘sound’. I love the guys.Even got their first show in the Mission. But come on. And their sound came from Husker Du and some DC influences. It was nothing new, but just great passionate rocknroll.
If you have to pick an ‘alternative’ kinda white band, pick J church at least.
