Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your
articles? I mean, what you say is important and all.
However imagine if you added some great pictures or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this site could certainly be one of the very best in its field.

lamento lo ocurrido con mi primo, pero mas lamento que la policia de ese pais no pudo actuar como tal, como lo demuestran ante el mundo……
en fin el pinche sueño americano tiene este fin, no todos corremos con la misma suerte, gracias a dios que mi hermano esta con nosotros despues de estar con los gringos mas de 11 años y pudo convivir con CESAR CHUC MUL hasta el año pasado que estuvo ahi.

Dude, there are barely enough liquor stores in the Mission open after 10pm to keep me happy, let alone all the outerville interlopers. I am a 25+year resident and the decline has been precipitous during my stay. I think the violence stems from this situation alone – not enough liquor stores, forcing everyone into a few venues which become powderkegz. Walk up Mission from 15th to 30th after midnight – I bet there are no more than 5 stores open – and that’s a damn long walk.

Without knowing what actually happened and how it’s impossible to decide what could have been done to prevent this, short of standing a cop on every corner (and, of course, that comes with its own issues.)

This is a horrible situation, but it shouldn’t be used to paint the Mission as some kind of war zone or to attack the police when no one has any facts about what happened or how the police responded. It only takes a few seconds for someone to get injured like this.

Police work in SF is reactionary instead of preventive because the people of the city insist that it be that way, the usual process-over-results that is the SF way. The gray area policies that result give us what we have today.

Want to talk preventative measures? Moratorium on liquor and beer/wine licenses in the neighborhood? The current Supes are pushing for more licenses and relaxed rules.

Request ABC to bust establishments serving visibly drunk patrons? See how that goes with the local business owners and their employees.

Give cops a mandate to spear fish in the barrel by issuing open container, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct citations? Give the police Giuliani-style license in the neighborhood to play rough and shake down shady customers? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

I’m not sure what your point is. You seem to think you are entitled to something. Or believe someone should help you.

You seem to think that events are in your control. They are not.

Preventable? Of course if we can see the future like you.

Your last statement made no sense. But that is par for the course. Nothing makes sense. I have seen 4 dead bodies in the 2 1/2 years I have lived here on valencia. I relish in the fact i wasn’t one of them.

I get what you’re saying, there Kyle, but FUCK YOU.

I drove by after I got off my bar job at 2:06am.

I was also working the night the “Black Bloc” went on their rampage.
I watched as those assholes marched on by my work, fucking shit up. The cops didn’t do shit that night, just followed them from a distance down the street – total bullshit. This is a different.

What I’m getting at here is that you can’t possibly pinpoint when violence is gonna happen – a man’s life was at stake here – and I saw him laying face down on Valencia outside of Arinell’s Pizza.

The new Mission sucks – I liked it better when the OLD Mission was more predictable in it’s violence.

Cops don’t protect their own asses & that’s about it.
