Thanks for the idea (although we can dispense with the buses). We old geezers are going to keep descending on the hot spots and drive away the young ‘uns, eventually driving them to the Marina/Union St. ghetto and back to NYC. Then we can reclaim the old neighborhood! Bring back the womyn-owned businesses of mid-Valencia St; Daniel Creamery that dispensed fresh cream cheese, Modern Times bookstore; dusty old stores that sold used plumbing & electrical supplies.
Solid used furniture from Salvation Army and the other used furniture stores–not pretentious “emporiums” that consider a typewriter a mid-century must-have. Geriatricism rules! We can needlessly stand in a line as well as anybody else. We can chatter aimlessly about the latest foodie trends and stare at a screen full of inconsequential matter as well as anybody. Hell, we may even break into a Jane Fonda exercise flash-routine and drive you from these very streets. But we’ll only do this after we’ve had our single-cup drip coffee that we’ve been brewing all along for the LAST 30 YEARS!
