The doctors and nurses at SFGH are great, but unfortunately, their administrative and billing departments are pure evil. Even if you have insurance, they’ll make up an arbitrary amount of money (usually in the $10,000 range) and say you owe that ON TOP of whatever your insurance paid.

that sucks, i’ve had two cars parked on SF streets totaled by hit-and-run drivers.

one of the most karmically satisfying moments of my life was when i saw a car hit a girl on a bike on valencia, and i stood in front of the dude’s car when he was trying to drive away and kept him from leaving. he acted like he didn’t know English, then when i started talking to him in Spanish he suddenly knew perfect English . . .

Paint is very specific to vehicle make, year, and possibly the model. So if you have some on your helmet..maybe the SFPD could look into that?

SF has a really great program for the victims/witnesses of violent crimes. If you’ve filed a police report, you should be able to use their services; from what I remember, a hit and run counts as a violent crime. They offer financial support to cover medical bills and such. They’re at 850 Bryant, hopefully they can help!

you are correct that I did not notice much about the SUV — i only remembered that it was white, but a witness said it was a Jeep Cherokee. It had black trim I think? I do remember getting a pretty close look at the wheel in front of my face before s/he sped off, but it was just a regular silver hubcap…

I had white paint on the side of my helmet, so I’m kinda hoping I left a dent on the SUV too…

probably an unlicensed driver or general scum of the earth.

two of the most callous criminals I loath are people who steel property and those that hit and run.

I’ll be on the look out.

As an aside, I was waiting in the long line to exist 101 in the left lane to duboce the other day. When I finally got to the light some prick bombed down the right lane (to van ness) and jammed in right in front of me. I didn’t forget the car and just saw him parked on my block. Do shitty things and people will remember you shitty face (or car).

I’m guessing you may not have seen much else since it was dark and you were busying slamming into a car
