I’d say “Fogbeard” don’t know shit.

  2. Caste says:

Well….it probably came from a truck on East 14th in 1988. Nowadays, who knows. The rents are rising in Oaktown while they drop in SF – TRUE STORY.

  3. Teotwawki Jones says:

Its the Quan all bull tortilla, hello?

  4. scum says:

People that blog about breaking laws and vandalism probably leave their trash on Bart.

  5. Dude! says:

Burritos are so 1967! Papusas are the new jam!

  6. Boakcha says:

I’ve had decent burritos in Berkeley but no luck in Oakland so far. Fruitvale maybe?

  7. SF Suckaz says:

There are at least a dozen spots in Oakland with burritos just as good as the Mission (and better carnitas) — and they won’t cost you $9, you suckas!

  8. rod says:

the best burrito in Oakland comes from a truck and i ain’t sharing the location of that truck anytime soon.

Oh man, you’re so cool and in the know! Thanks for letting everyone know how cool you are. Members only!!

I LOVE when this blog hates on Oakland, and we all get to keep our amazing food treasures to ourselves. We sure don’t want ass hats, like this guy with his luke warm leftover ignorance, polluting our YUMZ. Rod, keep up the good work. Let them know it’s out there, just out of their greasy reach.

      Sorry, SF!

      • V says:

What amazes me even more is that this dude already named the best burrito joint in a post back in 2007….he just felt like being a douche today I guess. This blog gets worse and worse. Stick with the photos of hipsters and reminiscing of when the mission was actually worth writing about. We’ll handle everything Oakland-related elsewhere.

San Diego… Best burritos in the States!

    • scum says:

      Go home kook.

      • Dude! says:

Would you like fries with that(or in that crappy burrito)?

        • Topian says:

No, a SD burrito is more like taco fillings in a flour tortilla. Similar to La Taqueria in SF or Tacos Morenos in Santa Cruz. Haven’t tried it with fried potato but next time will for sure. Carne asada fries are really good too.

          • HH says:

            Fuck you Jane Parton.

          • Topian says:

That reference is totally over my head but I’ll take it as a compliment

          • loinscum says:

SD burrito should never be used in the same sentence as Tacos Morenos.

That is the best burrito around, not this refried bean garbage from further south you speak of.

          • Herr Doktor Professor Deth Vegetable says:

I used to live right around the corner from Tacos Morenos and it was fucking awful. They didn’t even have black beans.

          • Unkindest Cut Of All says:

^ YOU LIVED IN SC? Damn dood I probably would know you, but you probably went to Stevenson or Merrill

Tacos Morenos was Especial, but their is no ‘Best’ anywhere.

          • Topian says:

Pinto or refried over black beans. get with it

          • Herr Doktor Professor Deth Vegetable says:

  10. The Usual says:

It drove me frothing-at-the-mouth crazy when Tony Bourdain did his San Francisco episode, but when he wanted to visit a taco truck, he went to Oakland!

  11. uppppppp says:

Judging by the fogbeard’s posts, that kid would probably eat anything. Because he is high on pot. And pot makes you want to eat things.

  12. Hater says:

Probably easier to find good BBQ in SF

  13. Dr. Malcolm says:

This blog lost all credibility on the burrito front a long time ago, these bloggers don’t even eat beans.

“We ordered ours with grilled chicken, regular salsa, and no beans. (Unless they’re of the cannellini variety and tinged with rosemary and olive oil, we don’t care for beans.)” – Alan Hough

  14. Herr Doktor Professor Deth Vegetable says:

The best burrito in Oakland is a 20 minute BART ride out of the fucking suburbs and get to Taqueria Can-Cun at 6th and Market.

    • Crass Backpatch says:

You go ahead and keep believing that.

      • Herr Doktor Professor Deth Vegetable says:

Cool, glad we’re on the same page!

        • Welsed says:

You are such a troll! But entertaining. Actually someone who was dedicated to Cancun and Faralitos having lived in the mission for several years and the TL, AND BEING MEXICAN with a family who regularly cooked carnitas, I have to say the best burrito I’ve had so far, at least downtown oakland was Axtlan, but it’s only open during work hours during the week. Lame. But seriously, amazing carnitas. Like what my uncles and aunts made. But you would know that because trolls know everything!!! So went an I even telling you the obvious!

    • Murphy says:

CanCun on 6th used to have the best al pastor anywhere — better even than Mexico City — but their trompo broke and now it sucks.

    • piprip says:

… As said by someone who has never been to Sinaola, Sinaola Mariscos, El Novillo or Guadalajara. I’ll admit that El Farolito has better burritos but find me better tacos than those places and ill be indebted to ya.

Mission Mission — your forum for SF arrested adolescence.

  20. Stephanie says:

The Chile Relleno Burrito from Xolo in uptown is crazy good.

  21. fakejoebiden says:

Man, I love me some SF burritos, but I don’t know what on earth is better than anything from Sinaloa on International.

  22. Backne1 says:

I got so sick of the Mission, I left. I am happier in the Excelsior.

  23. El Pito says:

Taqueria Guadalajara in San Leandro. Been a long time since I’ve been there though…..

  24. The Guy says:

I really can’t believe no one has mentioned La Penca Azul on Park in Alameda. Formally La Pinata. That place is bomb. But don’t take my word for it. Try it out for yourself.

  25. Nice post. I was checking continuously this blog and I’m inspired!
