Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos: The Way I Shoot

Every week, photographer Joshua Cobos shoots a roll of film just for us. He picks the best 13 photos and we post them here, and it’s called “Bad Blood with Joshua Cobos.” Here’s what Joshua has to say about this week’s installment:

The way i shoot involves maybe setting up two or three shoots a month, concepts that i work on over long periods of time. Since each roll takes about a week to shoot, a lot of my personal life ends up on these rolls. Bad blood has turned my perspective into my journal. This is Velvia 50 transparency film shot on my 35mm Canonet rangefinder.

Thanks, Joshua! Nine more shots after the jump:

    • Yeah, I’m gonna go ahead and say the feedback in these posts has probably not affecting what Joshua is doing. First off, most of it was just ranting about hipsters and nonconstructive nonsense. Second, given the amount of time each roll takes to shoot and develop, is likely these shots were taken before that big comment thread broke out (though I could be wrong about that).
Many of these rolls have different themes and looks to them, it’s more likely that there’s just something you like more about this roll than the previous ones (like maybe you don’t dig portraits… or maybe you like the bright colors) than it is that Josh was able to find any helpful feedback in the comments here.

Awesome set! Don’t let the haters get you down, negative commenters on this site are just bitter cause they aren’t doing well in their own miserable lives (I would know). Just cause you had one bad week doesn’t mean you don’t have talent. Keep it up dude, I’m looking forward to seeing what you come out with next. :)

  11. big ups bro! you managed to incidentally shoot some photographs that might get you maybe a B but probably a C in a photography class. if you had learned anything about how to frame a shot, you could have almost had a photograph worthy of showing to other people!!!!

thanks misison mission for lowering the bar on art, which was already so horribly low in san francisco…

Fuck all these anonymous haters. Post a link to your weekly photography column and then talk shit.

Great pics as usual, Josh. Who do those feet belong to?
