Well, you know, when Haceteria post #9 appeared, it reminded me of the many American Tripps posts.

I love the idea of a neighborhood blog telling me about interesting things nearby. I’m less interested in being sold those things.

I think if I ran a blog (if only!), I’d want people to trust me not to be promoting my and my friends stuff, but providing disinterested recommendations. I understand that the lines can get blurry, but there *are* lines, aren’t there? Eh, maybe not. Death of journalism, brave new world, caveat emptor, etc.

Is this something you have a pecuniary interest in, like American Tripps? I can never tell here if I’m looking at advertising, or disinterested support/recommendation of a community event.
