Citi Bike bike share bikes are, in fact, the best way to get around New York City

The proof is in the pudding:

Can’t wait for August, when we get a similar service here in SF.

A bike-sharing service from CitiBank is kinda like the King throwing you some extra gruel during a famine.

I was just in NY last week and they were all over the place. Looked like locals and tourists alike were zipping around famously. Hey if it cuts down on emissions I am all for it. Downfall, unexperienced riders causing accidents.

Bikes are great, and less cars even better. However SF is notoriously difficult to ride and drive. Giving supreme novices bicycles here may turn bad. Regardless of how careful each are, they all seem very self centered and neither drivers nor riders seem all that concerned with where the other is or going.
Just remember Physics doesn’t give a fuck who is in the right, or what lane you’re in. 2,200lb car wins vs. 178lb meat bag every time.

    They ugly tho.

Two top YouTube comments nail it. (1) You could probably walk 1.3 miles in 20 minutes. (2) You don’t have to ride an uncomfortable bike if you don’t want to. It’s your bike. You get to decide.

Also, “there’s nothing faster racing around this city on a fixed gear.” You could probably go just as fast, if not faster, with a freewheel. Just sayin’.

Yeah, people who claim that fixies are somehow magically “faster” than real bikes are hilarious.
