These are mosquitos and there are 2 new species that have come to California this summer. The ones I’ve found in my home are super small. Like, the size ofa fruitfly and you don’t really hear them unless they get right up on your ear.

Apparently this terrifying variety is black-and-white striped and actually “prefers to bite people indoors during the day,” though how they know that I know not. Screen your windows…?!
