I live nearby and the park is a mess every weekend. People used to always clean up after themselves. Now, there are cigarette butts everywhere, bottle caps everywhere and broken glass everywhere. Glass should not be allowed in the park if these yahoos can’t handle it. some people treat the park with some awareness, but more and more are trashing it. and then there are the homeless camped out every night. I understand they have issues, but the amount of broken car windows in the neighborhood every morning is a real issue. this would not be tolerated in other neighborhoods. It’s a shame.

no, it was a party, so each person brought one or a few items and a lot of people attended. a few of us tried cleaning up for the entire party.

We live in a fucking city, not Yosemite. The people here clearly care enough to not leave ti strewn around the park. There should be enough receptacles for the park usage.

My favorite part of this photo is the trash can less than 50 feet away that isn’t overflowing in the top right. I guess that trash can was out of their way?

I was actually expecting to see a whole field of trash (a la other events in the city). To see that they actually bagged their trash and put it next to receptacles is more admirable than what a lot of our citizens have done in the past.

Thanks for at least getting it to the receptacle! It’s definitely the most I would have done as well. I don’t expect it increased the effort of the collectors much more than the overflowing receptacle it’s sitting next to.

If ya’ll could haul all the stuff that made the trash to the park from your homes without cars, it would serve to reason that you’d be capable of carrying the empty trash items back out with you in the case the trash cans are all full. Sorry! Not really a valid excuse!
