Clearly some illegal activity happening here, which the_ssnoopy_show posted on the Internet for the benefit of some 2,800 instagram fans and much to the chagrin of Stanley Roberts.

As the Bay Area’s resident hall monitor, Roberts has recently been engaged in an on-air game of cat-and-mouse with these impromptu sideshows as they pop up around the East Bay. The video made it on KRON4 news last night, to which the_ssnoopy_show responded, “Thank You 4 All My New Followers Stanley,Im Flattered,It’s Still Fuck Em Im Jus Glad Your Helping Me Spread The Good Word!!!!”

Anyhow, it appears to be an early 2000′s Camaro, which was a really ugly year for Camaros.

Gotta admit, he has a real cakestealin’ look about him.

According to Redditor bigshmoo the Cake Creep made off with his frosty dessert around 11:30 on Wednesday and the SFPD is apparently on the look out for him, although I doubt that he is Park Station’s #1 priority. No word yet on whether it was the suspect’s birthday or if he was simply on his way to celebrate a special occasion with a friend.

An unidentified man was attacked by five male suspects at 16th and Mission Streets around 3 a.m. Friday morning, August 1st. According to police, the suspects took the man’s cellphone and cash, and stabbed the guy in the leg before fleeing the scene.

The victim was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition as of Friday evening, but police had not yet made any arrests in the case.

Meanwhile, across town in North Beach, two guys and a dog also got stabbed around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. The dog is expected to survive.

On Monday evening, a suspect armed with a knife and some lighter fluid stepped into the Foods Co. grocery store on Folsom & 14th Streets, and attempted to set fire to the place.

The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Monday evening — prime dinnertime shopping hours for everyone’s favorite discount grocer. According to fire department officials, the suspect entered and “started pouring lighter fluid on the floor.” Bay City News has more:

The suspect was waving a knife and set the floor on fire, police said.

The fire department responded and quickly put the fire out. Two of the store’s employees were taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, police said.

Police quickly arrested the suspect, identified as Shaun Lavell Jones, 24. Jones was born a male but identifies as a female, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

According to police, Jones was booked on suspicion of burglary and arson. It is currently unclear why exactly anyone would want to burn down a grocery store with such delightful soda can displays.

Some 30 years ago, your San Francisco forefathers deemed it necessary to protect the youth of tomorrow by limiting the number of pinball and arcade game and bingo games for money machines based on a business’ square footage or their proximity to schools. Presumably, they felt the change-powered entertainment craze would pluck quarters from the pockets of unsuspecting children and rot their tiny brains with too much Elvira and the Party Monsters. In other words, during the 80s the city decided to limit pinball machines in the same way we currently restrict where pot clubs can open and where the taco trucks can park. That anti-arcade legislation is expected to be revised today thanks to prevailing common sense and some hard working pro-pinball activists. The Examiner fills us in on the latest:

The rallying cry for the amended law was the plight of Free Gold Watch, a silk-screen print shop at 1767 Waller St. that opened in May 2007. Over time, business owner Matthew Henri added about 30 arcade machines after a few had become popular at the Upper Haight business. But Henri had discovered his operation was running afoul of the law, which does not allow more than 10 arcade machines per location and sets the exact amount based on a business’ square footage.

What’s to account for the sudden boom in retro-gaming popularity? The Ex believes it “may have something to do with how The City has a booming technology industry” — which is just a polite way of saying arcade games are a symptom of our citywide Peter Pan Syndrome. Either way: for 25 or 50 cents, banging around on Lethal Weapon 3 is a pretty cheap source of entertainment.

On the other hand, the news isn’t all good for would-be arcade owners: Bars with five or more machines, and non-drinking establishments like Free Gold Watch that have more than 10 machines, will need to pay up for a $740 permit from the Entertainment Commission that costs $316 (or 632 plays) annually to renew.

Next Saturday Sunday, Dolores Park will get a big, messy game of Twister involving paint, water balloons and a group of folks looking to check something whimsical off their bucket list.

The event is being put on by Forward Motion SF, which describes itself as “the premier bucket listing group” and definitely not a singles club. The Facebook invite has more:

We’re setting up a massive game of Twister in Dolores Park. It’s no ordinary game. We’ll have paint on each circle while people on the outside can throw water balloons and shoot squirt guns.

WHAT TO BRING: Clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, any extra squirtguns and water balloons.

The sloppy party game kicks off at 11 a.m., Sunday, August 3rd, and attendees are invited to bring their own water balloons and squirt guns. There is also a $5 suggested donation, which I assume will go towards the purchase of paint. (Unclear.) The group also promises to “leave no trace” and they are looking for a few skilled squirters and a spinner.

Previous bucket list check-offs include: learning to hang glide, shooting a gun, hiking to Lands End, and building a 100-foot slip-n-slide in Dolores Park back in 2013.

Earlier this month, 35-year-old Jeffrey Bugai (pictured) was arrested by San Francisco police for allegedly impersonating a police officer in order to kidnap immigrants with the intent to commit sexual assault. Bugai allegedly decked himself out in a vaguely cop-looking outfit and drove a white Crown Victoria. He was reportedly working in the Mission and Ingleside, where he would prey on newly arrived immigrants with limited English and threaten to deport them. Bugai would mislead his victims to believe he was a police officer and bring his victims to his home where he would administer intoxicants, coerce them, and/or force them into committing sexual acts. Bugai reportedly placed handcuffs on some of his victims. Bugai would tell the victims they would be deported if they called the police or there would be retaliation by the police for reporting him.

Bugai was arrested on July 10, 2014 and was charged with five felonies: two counts of “kidnapping with the intent to commit sexual-related assault, assault with the intent to commit a felony, attempted forcible oral copulation and attempted sodomy by use of force.” The Examiner reports he pled not guilty to all five charges during his arraignment on the 15th. He is currently being held on $2 million bail and is due back in court on July 28th.

Because of his fake threats, SFPD believes that there may have been victims who have not yet come forward. Anyone who has any information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-553-0123. In addition to creeping through the Mission and Ingleside in the city, he was also known to frequent parts of Hayward and Oakland.

Update, July 22: According to an update from the Chronicle and CBS5/KPIX last night, Bugai’s two known victims were men. He also has a history of impersonating positions of power: he was arrested and sentenced to 90 days in jail for pretending to be a health care worker at a medical center in Michigan back in 1999. Despite the misdemeanor on his record, he still managed to find a job with a private security company in California around 2002. (As commenter Yulebesorry points out he worked as a rent-a-cop near the Knockout on Mission Street “for years.”) A woman filed a restraining order against him in San Francisco in 2007 and he also filed for restraining orders against three men since 2010. CBS5 has the video report from Monday night.

Around last call on Saturday morning, 28-year-old Benjamin Martinez was shot multiple times near the corner of 16th and Valencia Streets. He was taken to San Francisco General where he later succumbed to his injuries.

According to Bay City News, police responded to the scene around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The shooter fled the scene and SFPD has only described the suspect as “a male suspect with a gun.”

Bartender Derek Hypieper from Gestalt just down the street told Mission Local that his doorman heard multiple gunshots, but was unaware someone had been killed. SFPD also blocked off 16th Street and an ambulance was spotted by the 22-Fillmore stop outside Yoyo Restaurant.

Mission Local also noted that a memorial popped up in front of El Cafetazo late Saturday afternoon reading,”Rest in Paradise Benny.” Anyone else who may have spotted anything is encouraged to call SFPD directly at (415) 553-1145.

Back in 2012, a 20-person brawl broke out on the same corner around 2 a.m. on a Tuesday morning and left local kitchen legend Caesar Chuc on life support. Chuc passed away a few days later at San Francisco General.
