Seems like a valid question…

I don’t know if I’ve ever been so offended while laughing out loud at the same time in all my life. Something tells me that if our good buddy Peter Shih took this tongue-in-cheek approach instead of dissing homeless people and “49ers,” he might still be able to live in this city without getting spit on everywhere he goes.

A favorable confluence of factors will be conspiring to make this weekend possibly the best that the city of San Francisco has ever seen.  Where should I begin?  We’ve got a full schedule of Pride events, all of which should be extra fabulously festive since the Supreme Court finally came to their senses and struck down the dishonorable Defense of Marriage Act (leading to one of the best New Yorker covers of all time).

And!  As you can see above, this will all be happening under some of the best weather we ever get over here, so expect to wear shorts and t-shirts THE ENTIRE WEEKEND.  Yes, even at midnight.  Seriously, if you can’t find something amazingly fun to do this weekend, you are totally blowing it.

You know what to do, people!  Wear shorts and t-shirts at night, drink some beers in the park with your friends, stay out late and dance, call that cute girl/guy you’ve been meaning to hang out with, and just enjoy the fuck out of life.  Because seriously, if you’re not making the most out of every night this week, you’re totally blowing it!

While great strides have been made on the new soccer field and children’s water park, the long-awaited re-opening of the public Mission Pool (and Playground) is still a ways away, but that didn’t stop this merry band of revelers from having their own pool party at that very same intersection. According to MM reader Shawn who happened upon this scene on his way to the park,

These guys were just about to dine on carefully prepared pool-steaks. Their invitation was appealing: “I want you in here right now!”

Indeed, this weekend witnessed one of those magical 80+ degree days that also happened to occur on a Saturday, which only happens about 3 times a year, so you’ve gotta take advantage of each one to the fullest, otherwise you’re totally blowing it. I hope for your sake that each and every one of you was able to get into some kind of mischief or amazing adventure that reminded you that we live in the best place ever.

Dolores Park, apparently, and probably sweltering from the looks of it. Perhaps not the best choice of weekend for this particular ensemble, but at least he’s not totally blowing it.

Eh, perhaps I meant “change of signs,” but that’s not as catchy.  In any case, it looks like Rhea’s is going with the classy retro look to match their classy sandwiches.  Meanwhile, they’re up to something over at Escape From NY Pizza, but as to what, your guess is as good as mine.

Also, if you’re not outside right now, you’re totally blowing it.

Recently, six porta potties appeared at the entrance to Dolores Park, more than doubling the number of restroom options previously available.  The effect has been tremendous, with bathroom lines reduced dramatically, even during yesterday’s Hunky Jesus extravaganza.  And now dedicated boyfriends no longer have to prove their affection by waiting with their significant others in the girls line!

So, has the city finally figured it out? Are these now a semi-permanent fixture in the park until the long awaited Dolores renovation project constructs completely new ones?

If not, then they’re totally blowing it.  For now, enjoy the convenience and the cleanliness! Seriously, these are some of the cleanest porta potties in which I’ve ever set foot! And they smell nice too! Kind of like flowers! So much so that I exclaimed as much upon entering, and the woman using the one next to me agreed, “Isn’t it delightful?”

It sure is. Enjoy it while it lasts!
