Copters are hovering over San Jose Avenue–the phony appearance of official competence–while schools rot and public violence mounts.

there’s currently a war going on out there, folks. the police seem to be staying out of the way while telling us we should feel safe. be careful out there people, and remember that 20th and Mission is a major turf boundary, might want to skip the late-night Cancun munchies for a few days . . .

You get used to it. The shootings come in waves, like sets in Hawaii, I figure it’s a 3 to 4 year period. The cycle is tracking true to form. It could be as new pukes turn 15 or 16 they get initiated into the crass silliness of gangs or it could be the average time in stir is 4 years. Nonetheless, like cicadas, when they arrive it seems the end-times have truly come then autumn chills and we quickly forget for 17 years only to be rudely reminded at their rebirth.

Now about those choppers, SFPD does not have them. They had one, it was very expensive. At one point they crashed it and it was never repaired.

Earlier this year SFPD had warned citizen safe groups and teachers that as a result of the current injunction of gang leaders, the younger ones are not following any codes that have been handed down and are vying for dominance. Without the leadership to keep the younger ones in check – so to speak, the war has become even more heated.

regular citizens do not always realize .some(or a lot; sometimes)..of these “hits” are a result of prison politics..and many times a response to the latest prison melee somewhere in the state.in the joint..its a “small world”..and news of riots;melees travel fast through shu/ad seg/prison transfers..and a retaliation is called for..its not always about what is going on on street corners and other hangouts
