   It’s pretty hard to find people these days who will openly admit that they listen to disco, but the influence of the genre on popular music starting in the early 1980′s with groups like Blondie and Devo and taking us up to the present with artists like Rihanna and Lady Gaga is pretty much undeniable. I venture to say that the entire genre of techno itself wouldn’t exist without the early disco pioneers who were beat programming drum loops and other sonic innovations in 1970′s era nightclubs.
