For goodness’ sake, when will somebody turn this place into something cool?

I know I mentioned this before, and some lovely discussion followed, but this epic shot by Jeremy Brooks just begs for the question to be asked again: Why is this building not already some kind of awesome thing?

Nice lines from the golden age of Art Deco. Asking price? $4-6 million!

    How about an all-in-one taqueria/cafe/overpriced t-shirt store/art gallery/99 cent store/sketchy produce place?

It would be like the entire Mission in one store.

because most capital in the world is tied up in the wall street casino, when it could be directed to the real economy.

….capital is like water folks, dam it, direct it, use it, don’t let it all collect in the fuckin’ ocean.

How about a 99 cent disco outlet?

dood ! that place is already awesome, i piss there everytime i drink in the mission ! i knows i 3 blocks home when i see my bathroom away from home.

    • batman is right. It’s already awesome — an awesome place to paint murals and tag, and yet under-exploited for those purposes at this time. Make the owner(s) clean graffiti and pay for city removal until they’re willing to sell at something like market value.

Vintage urban style and batman pees there every time he goes out drinking! Great buy everybody!

That space has been either cheap asianplasticporium or empty since I first moved to San Francisco and lived on San Carlos off 18th right before Loma Prieta.
