‘Skate Witches’ in the Midwest, 1986

The Mission may have Teen Witch, and she’s pretty great, but I don’t know that she’s ever uttered a phrase quite as killer as, “I don’t have no money to waste on a skateboard, so I take one from whoever I want, whenever I want.” (Correct me if I’m wrong.)

In any case, prepare to be dazzled by Skate Witches, filmed in Ann Arbor about 25 years ago:

Ha, I know some girls that dressed up as this for Halloween a few years ago. I’d forgotten all about it. Thanks!

Guess I should have posted this here:

Three days, and no mention of this on Mission Mission aside from your comment above. Seriously. It’s a bit upsetting considering this is the same blog that insists on posting every time some idiot with a camera phone sees the police show up at 16th/BART as if it’s not an hourly occurrence. And when something actually noteworthy happens, we get “Skate Witches.”

It was a horrible thing. I grew up with Thrasher and of course any suicide is horrible. It’s been covered all over the place already. We’ve all read it other places. I don’t have anything new to add.
