The Best Veggie Sandwich in Town?

We Built This City just discovered yet another entrant in this age-old contest: The Golden Beet Loaf Sandwich at Atlas Cafe. They even go so far as to say it’s better than the widely beloved Plant Cafe Plant Burger, which also leans heavily beet. Do you believe it?

Oh man yes. I haven’t had it since I moved out of that neighborhood and seeing the photo makes me want one now. SO good.

  2. GG says:

Sadly, I think the best veggie sandwich in town award goes to the veggie burger from Mission Burger in the Duc Loi supermarket — and they are no longer serving it. A travesty.

I hear Ananda Fuara’s “Neatloaf” is pretty darn good.

Yes! I was just going to post about the same thing! I love their Neatloaf! My favorite thing at the cultfood restaurant, hands down!

Over the weekend I just tried some sort of spicy bbq seitan SANDWICH at Rhea’s that went to 10 on the scrumptious meter. And no, that wasn’t my Tesla.

    noting beats plant burger, SWURTOGOD

  8. plumpy says:

Yeah, I’ve had both of those, and the Atlas Cafe sandwich is definitely good. Had I never eaten a Plant Cafe burger, I could be happy with it. But I have eaten a Plant Cafe burger, so instead I just wish I was eating that instead.

  9. GG says:

Wow, I’m surprised. The Plant Burger was too mushy for me.

  10. prince says:

What! I’ve been missing out when I go there? Must try!

  11. Dan says:

The yam and goat cheese sandwich at Bi Rite should near the top of this list!

  12. Jess says:

If we’re lumping burgers in with sandwiches…then the veggie burger at KK Cafe. So deep-fried, you’ll forget it’s meatless.

I’ve had that sandwhich about a million times. Its tasty but come-on Atlas, can’t you change-up your menu once every few years????? I mean there are only 2 veggie sandwhiches at the cafe and they haven’t been changed once since I’ve lived here. So after your 100th beat loaf sandwich you start getting bored with it…
