One of the Tastiest Little Breakfasts in Town

S. Pigeon this morning clued us in on a fine-looking breakfast option over at Rosamunde Sausage Grill, and lamented that clearly not enough of us are taking advantage:

And what’s this about free fancy coffee?

Eh. Went there once. $6 for a dog means I won’t be back. And what the hell is in the sammy anyhow? A leaf and some cheese? Pass.

  2. claptrap says:

    that sandwich is indeed delicious.

The free coffee deal is buy a breakfast sando, get a cup of coffee free. And they serve 4 Barrel there! I think the deal is only available until 10:00 on weekdays? Just be advised that the staff is not awake in the morning. We went there this morning and the dude screwed up literally every single part of our order. Oh well, it’s cheap & yummy!

Yeah it’s tasty. Probably the best breakfast sandwich around but I need a quick stop in the AM. They could make a killing if they made a few sandwiches ahead and put good signs over at 24th and Mission. Oh and make the crew drink coffee before work.

Hope they stay open for breakfast. It’s always quiet in the AM.

I love Rosamund — in my world-view, a good weiner is worth almost anything.

But, if you’re willing to listen to a little non-Mission heresy, you might try Zog’s Dogs @ the intersection of Post, Montgomery & Market. It’s cheaper, has lots of variety (check the website if you want), and the girl who worked the counter there today was totally flirt-worthy, if I was young enough to flirt.

    I loved my turkey dog.

Hmmm, whenever I think about going there I realize on the way that I am going to be so close to Red Cafe so I might as well get the BEST EGGS EVER. That sandwich does look darn good though..

  7. Heather says:

This place would be a lot more enjoyable if you did not have to clean your own table before eating on it.

  8. Boris says:

Maybe they should think about the price… $6+ for a sausage is pretty crazy.

  9. Mission Mistaken says:

Every restaurant funded by the Mission Economic Development Association…

(aka, the worst of the worst when it comes to non-profit Mafia — they are the ones that chased Charles Pham of Slanted Door out of the hood because he wasn’t towing their party line)

…is conceptually intriguing, and an utter fail in the execution. Just like the mother ship, MEDA.

Is this one of those? Reports indicate yes.

  10. Alicia says:

Rosamunde needs to give up on breakfast and stay open later at night. The place is always packed when they shut down at 11, never understood the reasoning there.

  11. Jason says:

Just an update – They gave up on their amazingly tasty breakfast. They now open at 11:30 Mon-Fri, and 9AM on Sat & Sun.

Here’s the text of a note posted to their door:
    “To our breakfast customers:

We are no longer be open for breakfast Monday through Friday.

Come visit us on the weekend for brunch. We have a full breakfast menu including your favorite breakfast sandwich and four barrel coffee.

Brunch served Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm”

Sad, because I wanted to get a nice big plate of sausage hash with delightfully poached eggs before work in the morning. Red Cafe is now my go to place again.
