A Day Without A Mexican

no one in particular says:

The Day of the Dead parade was ironically the only time I’ve been on 24th Street and not seen a single Mexican.

Not sure where you were standing, but there were plenty of latinos (and latinas) on hand for yesterday’s procession. (It was an amazing turnout of all races and nationalities).

agree with mashed – there were a lot of latino people out. it was a little heavy on the anarchist youth though, especially in garfield square, which is different than how it was last year.

Plenty! Participating in it and enjoying it on the sidelines. Including your truly.

Well, plenty of people had skeletal make-up on so who knows were actually latino/latina. Still, the shrines to Buddy Holly and Shakespeare and the white hippies playing new age music on the saw and violin didn’t really mesh well with the spirit of the event.
