Trader Joe's Sells Felines!

Now maybe everyone won’t get all in a huff if Trader Joe’s ends up moving into the current Delano’s location at 23rd and South Van Ness.

Somebody let that cat out of the bag!

…sorry, really couldn’t help myself. It was just too punny.

Ironic and interesting comparisons/contrasts between Trader Joe’s and Market Street Safeway:

TJ’s: Never any homeless shoppers, even though the booze is cheaper/same price; rarely any smiles from customers (generally determined, slightly angry and focused on knocking you out of their way); generally cheery, attractive staff; No dogs. Ever. Or cats. 90% white people. Tight parking. Limited meat & vegetable options, strangely mediocre no matter the season. Fabulous pantry item selection. Unrivaled.

Safeway: Always a diverse crowd, lots of dogs (no cats so far), lots of smiles and easy conviviality among most customers; Staff is hit or miss, and the online shopping fulfillment people will run you down; Homeless out the ass; Loose parking. Better meat and vegetables and more seasonal than TJ’s.

Best fit for the Delano’s Location: TJ’s all the way.

Would a Trader Joe’s be considered gentrification?

  5. Ferocious Foot Odor says:

Sure, but in this neighborhood, so would the Obama’s.

    Is that true?
TJ’s is taking the Delano’s place?

    That cat is organic?

I love me the hell out of Trader Joe’s. My only problem with them is that they pack the living hell out of their produce.

I asked a cashier and they said Delanos wasnt closing and they were going to start restocking their usual stock in a week. This was by a guy wearing an official-looking company shirt, but wasnt one of the regular cashiers.

I dont know why they would hide the fact theyre going out of business? They changed the 8-8 from 6-12 “to popular demand” so it looks like they might stick around….either that or the most unnecessary coverup ever
