Sprinkler Party Absenteeism in Dolores Park

Some may view this as a thinly veiled passive aggressive attempt to keep drunk hipsters out of the park during one of the hottest Saturdays of the year, but I don’t quite see it that way.

Rather, the City was trying to throw the neighborhood a sprinkler party, but sadly no one seemed to want to participate.

Que lastima?

Waste of water to have sprinklers running on a hot day– it evaporates much more readily.

I came running in the house telling my kids to get their swimsuits on! The sprinklers were on at the park! Let’s gooooooo!!!! They all grunted at me and went back to what they were doing. A perfect opportunity lost.

A really hot day can burn and kill the grass. They were probably trying to prevent that…
