Public Works is growing up so fast!

They’ve hosted literally a ton of epicly memorable events, and worked really hard to become a beloved member of the community. Here are details on the big anniversary bash:

Sounds good to me! What’s more, a big chunk of the proceeds are going to two worthy local charities: 7 Teepees and Mission Graduates.

“A party celebrating all things Mission” Mission United is called. It’s at Public Works this Friday and here are all the details:

The Deals:
- $5 admission between 8-10:30pm with Facebook Event RSVP.
- FREE food samples and drink specials between 8-10pm
- FREE Tequila tasters while they last and $2 shots

Here are a couple of gems you might’ve heard had you attended last Friday’s edition of Oldies Night at the Knockout:

If you’re a fan of this stuff — and really, if you’re a fan of FUN — you’d do well to go to tonight’s Summer Soul Revue at the Verdi Club. Oldies Night’s DJ Primo will be running the show. Advance tickets and further details here.

Here’s what to expect:

Summer is here and on Friday July 8th, local musicians will pay homage to soul greats and E V E R Y O N E will be dancing. The party will be led by DJ Primo and include live performances from Bay Area garage rockers (including members of the Sandwitches and Oakland’s Shannon and the Clams). This will be a summer dance event full of talent and a great selection of music that will take people back to the nights of 60’s southern soul flavor…even if they only know the likes of it if from the movies.

Mission Mission on Tumblr (mostly a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Mission Mission) yesterday posted an mp3 of a rare track by the Shirelles called “I Met Him on a Sunday (1966).” When Primo played it at the last edition of Oldies Night, it blew minds. All over the dance floor. Expect more of the same, tonight at the Knockout.
