I really wonder what the backstory is here. Does someone in the area keep a sheep as a pet? Was a visiting farm in town? Or was the sheep brought in to help people nap in the park?
The young lady at the other end of the leash said that she brought him down from the Santa Cruz Mountains (Ben Lomond! Represent!), specifically from Bonny Doon.
Why she brought him was not clear to me, but he seemed happy eating the grass. In this pic he was trying to avoid some dude who was trying to put sunglasses on him. (I think it was a him)

It was visiting for a friend’s birthday picnic, then spent the night at our apt.
