Check it out: Danny Bowien from Mission Chinese Food was recently on Martha Stewart. I hope that he later invited one of those Lung Shan old-timers in the back out to demonstrate how to stuff a dumpling.

   I saw him in Manhattan last week sitting on a stoop smoking. I was like “San Francisco?” This explains it.

     What makes you say that? I don’t go to Mission Chinese Food that much anymore since I don’t like waiting in crazy long lines, but the dude is kicking ass career-wise and I’m happy for him.

     Not to suggest that Martha Stewart is the epitome of cool or whatever, but if I was a chef, getting on the show would be a pretty big deal.

   Ha. Yeah, jumped-the-shark. You know, the food at Mission Street Chinese just hasn’t tasted as good since he was on Martha Stewart and in the NYT, etc. I hate delicious, innovative food that gets recognition. Danny Bowien should have stayed our little secret. I just don’t like him anymore.
