What is going on here Iguana?

MM reader Mike has a perfectly reasonable request:

maybe you can help solve the mystery of why someone would place an iguana in a straw basket up my tree. @ 17th and albion

I usually never write this, but WTF???  Some bizarre feeding ritual?  Fresh air?  Owner has been playing too much Skyrim and wanted to see if his reptile could fly too?

Someone better have a good explanation for this or Vegansaurus is gonna rage!

Another way to disguise an unsightly porta-potty

I must say that I find this porta-potty disguise much less pretentious than our previously featured example.  Perhaps it’s the festive colors or the whimsical design that makes it look more like a miniature golf obstacle.  Regardless, I’d really like to know if the person behind this is also responsible for the colorful Cushman across the street!

(Thanks Jaimie!)

Warm Leatherette post-punk dance party brings minimal synths and primitive dance floor antics to Sub-Mission tonight

Warm Leatherette used to take place in some other neighborhood, so they’re billing tonight’s party as their “Mission Migration.” Lucky us! Here’s the official data:

//////////Warm Leatherette travels on its maiden voyage to the Mission for our November edition at SUB/MIssion. As always, you’ll hear the dancier side of POST PUNK, MINIMAL SYNTH, COLD WAVE, ITALO and whatever else we may feel like playing.

//////////DJs Riegler, Justin, Dreamweapon, Nihar and Nary Guman will be spinning weird, infectious rarities and classics from the era when ice gripped the hearts of Europe’s disco-going youth.

//////////Why now? Why not?

RSVP and invite your friends, but not before listening to some choice post-punk cuts (courtesy of Warm Leatherette’s Facebook wall):

Some kind of shooting and/or other crime results in taped off streets from 24th and Potrero to 25th and Bryant

I’d call SFPD myself, but those guys can be bummers sometimes. Anybody know what’s going on?

(Thanks, Daroom.)
