Homestead Naked Lady Boobs Featured in Music Video

Those boobs (some of which were stolen recently and subsequently returned) sure are getting a lot of exposure lately. Here’s the video, by celebrated Canadian artist Dirty Beaches:

What Are These Geniuses Doing?

I was standing by the window tripping out on the view from my dentist’s office when I witnessed what is probably some kind of illegal disposal of toxic waste or something. They’re right above the Stockton Tunnel, so look out for poisonous sludge falling from above if that’s part of your commute this evening.

BREAKING NEWS: Cranberries Cover Band ‘Ocean Spray’ Is Back!

I was so bummed when I missed them the last time they played! I thought they’d never ever return! But all I had to do was wait two-and-a-half years.

And what’s more, they’ve reunited in order to help celebrate (and fund) the forthcoming Clueless stage adaptation!

See you guys there!

Is It Snowing in San Francisco? (This Time With Jokes!)

See for yourself.

Like Taking the Pianist and Double Bass out of a Jazz Trio Because the Drummer Is Famous

Some folks decided to clean some graffiti off some Shepard Fairey street art somewhere. Fecal Face has this to say:

Can’t help but think how many people used to think what an eye sore Obey Giant was back pre Obama poster days… Lady, you’re cleaning graffiti off graffiti. It’s like taking the pianist and double bass out of a jazz trio because the drummer is famous.

Ha! Read the whole story.

Is It Snowing in SF Yet?

From reader Sean C.:

I got bored at work today and threw together a silly site that will be completely irrelevant in a few days.  I love it.

I love it too. And I hope it hurries up and snows.

Why You Should See the Opening Act

I understand the impulse to show up late, just in time for the headliner. Have some cheaper drinks elsewhere, avoid the sweaty masses until the last possible moment.

Problem is, you just might miss out on something great, like Ed Schrader’s Music Beat. They opened for Dan Deacon last night and the night before, and slayed both times.

Dan ruled too, but you knew Dan was gonna rule. Ed Schrader and company were a surprise — and what’s more fun than a surprise? Also, their merch (see below) was better than any of Dan’s stuff by far.

I’m serious, you guys, it’s more fun to discover a new band in person than it is to discover them in the pages of Pitchfork.

TCB’s Chas Christianson Interview

Yes, bro! You probably recognize this speedy guy from TCB Courier, our favorite bike courier service:

This is the same dude that smoked everyone by 29 minutes at the Mission Mission Alleycat in Oct ’09. Well, check out this great interview with Chas in a recent issue of Fixed Magazine.  In the article, he gets into his origins, winning races, and some of the more unusual deliveries they’ve had to make, including this one:

Someone had to pick up a custom leather order from one of the leather shops, Stormy Leather on Folsom and 5th, all the way out to the infinity tower, the brand new condo, 38th floor. You know, condos that cost multi-million dollars, and we’re delivering custom-made leather straps and things like that.

Taqueria La Vallarta’s All-Day Breakfast Special

7am-10pm! Does it even qualify as a “special” at that point? Maybe I’m just a square. It’s 2011 and Taqueria La Vallarta clearly doesn’t care what my old-fashioned idea of what breakfast is. That’s cool. Don’t mess with brunch, though. That’s sacred.

What’s next, all-day “happy hour” at 24th Street bars? I hope so.
