Protestors chuck smoke bomb, hammer and more at SFPD’s Mission Station

Mission Local reports:

When the protestors reached Valencia, they hung a left, and stopped in front of the Mission Police Station. Someone threw a blue smoke bomb. Someone else threw a flare. It landed on a police officer’s foot, and he stamped it out. Someone else threw what appeared to be black paint – it hit the greenish glass doors of the station, and oozed down. The police standing in front of the door ducked but made not other moves. A hammer flew out of the crowd, hit the door and bounced off, with no apparent damange to the door. One police officer leaned down, picked up the hammer and passed it to another police officer, who passed it to another police officer, at which point it disappeard from sight.

Have any of these people heard the phrase “pick your battles”?

This is what you are protesting…an “alleged” pregnant woman murder and child sex-offender being shot after shooting at police?!? REALLY?!?!

You do understand we have an out of control military industrial complex, eating up billions of dollars and killing thousands of innocent individuals in the middle east, right?

You do understand the banking/financial industry is bleeding this country dry and perpetuating an anti-tax witch hunt that will end most social programs in this state/country in near future, right?

But this is what you waste your time and energy doing? I am all for protests, when it’s for something worth protesting.

Throwing hammers and vandalizing is no way to take the moral high road and gain public support for your cause. Instead, it makes you look like a criminal supporting other criminals. Just a thought. Rather than going around dressing in black with bandannas covering your face, how about looking like a law-abiding citizen. You’ll be taken more seriously.

  3. Under the 6th amendment to the U.S. constitution, American law enforcement agents are obligated to guarantee all suspected criminals a right to a speedy trial before a jury and the right to public representation, however, there is a clause in U.S. law enforcement policy where if officers are fired upon, they have the right to return fire, even to the point that it kills the suspect. That’s why the police won’t be punished for this incident.

The protesters have a constitutional right to peaceably assemble under the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, however, when they engage in acts of vandalism and property destruction they are subject to arrest and prosecution under current U.S. legal codes! Resisting arrest is also a crime! It seems obvious, but protesters always end up breaking stuff and refusing to cooperate with officers, that’s why you’re getting arrested…

you are scaring me with your citations to wikipedia (for consitutional authority no less). If you to talk law, go to law school and pay your dues.

Not surprisingly you are also missing the point of the protest. The protester out to call attention to the fact that a wounded suspect was left bleeding on the pavement without any medical attention for at least several minutes. See Youtube video. This will be the basis of any lawsuit.

      • Chris says:

Funny, that’s not what I heard them say at the lead-up to this protest yesterday. I did hear a lot of people say, “Just for not having his transfer,” though.

Granted, of course medical attention should be provided, but also, based on the YouTube videos, it seems like a tense environment and it isn’t clear how many law enforcement personnel are on the scene, and how the situation could’ve been handled with the force present. I’ll just say watching a YouTube video doesn’t make anyone an expert on the situation, regardless of which side you’re on.

      • Wikipedia provides a very approachable objective analysis of difficult topics. I think it’s a great resource. They cite their sources, don’t be such a snob! There are 30,100,000 results on a “U.S. Constitution,” Google search. I don’t think it’s an obscure document.

      • If they can prove that medical attention was withheld, they might have a case. I didn’t know that detail.

        • truth says:

There are two shootings being protested here and we’re getting them confused with one another.

      • me says:

the cops have to secure the site before an EMT crew can show up. I don’t think the cops were able to secure it even for themselves to give him attention.

  4. Also, I guess there’s some testimony that the guy didn’t fire a gun, or even have one. Also a possible point of consideration, if somebody wants to build a case. Although, people don’t like to hear how corrupt their sworn protectors are, and neither do judges and the cops themselves. I hate how these events end up spiraling whole communities into bitter rivalries, even on internet boards like these…

    • iSai says:

Gun powder residue was found on his hands. The SFPD put an end to this thug’s murderous way of life. And in a culture of “Snitches Get Stiches”, the authorities will never get a straight answer from that community.

  5. Stu says:

Except that his constitutional innocence flew out the window the moment he fired a gun.

    • truth says:

Except that this hasn’t been proven, idiot.

      • Really? says:

so not only did they plant the gun, they put gun residue on his hands then had a 3rd officer on scene to shoot the two shots that were picked up by the shot spotter seconds before the two officers let off 8 shots combined. GIVE IT THE FUCK UP ALREADY.

  6. Spartico says:

Where are the memorials for all the victims of the dead scumbag. They way everyone is killing themselves on Third Street is the real tragedy. Also protest the killings of the innocent otther than cops while the community hides or justifies the perps. Then maybe I would listen to you. Until then you are a bigger threat than the cops.

  7. scum says:

I think I will set my stuff on fire in protest.
