Photographer Jesse Friedman late last night published a flurry of photos of fireworks lighting up the Mission sky. See the whole set here.

Nice… too many fireworks shots don’t show what they’re over. Thanks for the change!

and we can just all be very thankful that none of these caused a fire! not a great idea, people.

Except for the firework that exploded under a car at 3am, and then engulfed it and the car in front if it in flames, on 21st st. / valencia.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the fireworks!

      oof.

      did that really happen?

      • Frederick says:

Yes. It was quite scary. The cars were parked under a low-hanging tree which was being burned by the flames. Thankfully, SFFD arrived before the tree caught completely on fire. The tree practically covers the front of my building so you can imagine the potential damage that was avoided.

My neighbors and I guessed it must have been a vandal or perhaps a firework accident. It was 3am on a quiet street, so it definitely shocked all of us.

Yeah…Hampshire Street (between 25th & 26th) has been always been a traditional hotspot for a few years running. I swear they get some disneyland style shit over there! I don’t know how they get it but sure makes for a great show!!!
