La Mission Market

La Mission Market

Painting a new sign.

This place was something that I can’t remember. Then it was a sandwich/bakery place. Then seemingly the same thing but with a Hawaiian deli angle. Then a vegetable market. And now . . . another vegetable market?

The previous place was a market that had a few fruits and veggies outside and mostly empty shelves inside. It was very uninviting, borderline scary.

If I had to guess I’d say it existed as a front for someone’s money laundering scheme.

    I bought my jalapenos there.

  3. Lemons — 10 for a dollar (a dollar EACH at Safeway). The problem is that corner, the only intersection on Mission between 16th & 24th without a bus stop. Anyone who gets off a bus and wants to pick something up on the way home will find a different market before this one. The other problem is Duc Loi, the new default local market for a lot of people in the area; they’re good enough to make a special trip to, even if you have to walk a couple three blocks.
