A ‘thriving community’

A choice quote from some Mission Local coverage of a recent fatal shooting in the Mission:

“There’s a lot of gang banging, a lot of prostitution,” said one law enforcement official who asked not to be identified. “I’m not surprised that violence has popped up there. And then you have the hipsters coming around to the nightspots. There’s a lot of people looking for drugs, so that all works well together. It makes for a thriving community.”

FUCK YOU, “law enforcement official who asked not to be identified”. No, DOUBLE and TRIPLE FUCK YOU. GO DIE, and BURN in HELL.

NIGHTSPOTS? What fucking NIGHTSPOTS? At 17th and Mission?!

This is my neighborhood — I know it like the back of my hand — and things like this happen because assholes like you, who are paid to watch over us, decline to do their job and enforce the law. Guess that must be a hard job, huh? Not like the easy gig the rest of us have, right?

    Asshole.

No shit. Worst part is this happened ONE BLOCK away from a police station.

If the cops can’t even be bothered to patrol a single block around their station, then what are we paying them for?

How do you really feel old guy?

    • Like I ought to put the mouse down after the second martini. I need to set a good example for my adopted daughter, Jane.

Please keep posting graff/street stuff – even the crappy stuff – I love that it pisses off all the nimby-conservatives here that think they are rebels or relevant.

Hmmm, a guy named ‘trigger’ got killed in a very well known area where gangs have been killing each other for decades. I do agree that hipsters are exacerbating the problem.

  4. Tom in SFCA says:

Mission St. between 16th and 17th has been a mess for decades. I don’t see how hipsters have anything to do with it. And yes, Mission Police Station is only a block away. Yet one never sees uniformed foot patrols at night in this area. SFPD makes honey badger look like Princess Di. They REALLY don’t give a shit!

  5. Jane says:

Hipsters buy drugs from other hipsters, not from scary looking strangers on 17th & Mission. Not seeing how the police blame hipsters for gang violence; last I checked moped gangs don’t typically carry guns.

  6. Dick Tard says:

I wonder who’s the bigger dicktard:

    (a) the dicktard who took a single provocative quote out of context so other dicktards would read his blog
    -or-
    (b) the dicktards who were too lazy to click through and actually read the rest of the article before ranting
    -or-
    (c) Dick Tard

    • Well, it’s probably not (a), because I have yet to hear of a blogger who deliberately ran material designed to keep readers away.

And I know it’s not (b), because I did read the article before ranting — in fact, it was the stupidity of the official’s remark in the context of the article that inspired my rant in the first place.

So I’m going to have to go with (c) — especially since you already claimed it, Richard.
