SFPD dirt bike cops are everywhere these days

I used to only see these guys in the park, but just now I left the house for like 30 minutes and saw three just cruising around the neighborhood.

UPDATE: TK makes a good point in the comments. With potholes like these floating around, you best be on a dirt bike.

They need the dirt bikes to handle the potholes on Mission Street!

Ugh I did not enjoy seeing SFPD try to use these as weapons to herd people off the streets and sidewalks during the post-world-series mayhem in the Mish. Feel me?

For reference, this photo was taken on 17th and S Van Ness

They are Suzuki DRZ 400S dual sports. Great general purpose bikes for the city and offroad both.

I wanna see one of the SFPD’s do this:

There have been three separate shootings on Alabama and Cesar Chavez in the past week. Would you rather more meter maids?

No, we’d rather have more foot patrols, since those are what actually dissuade crime.

Foot patrol? How much ground can they cover in an hour? Never satisfied some people.
